Our motivation for participating in the Garden Walk and acting as scouts for Buffalo in Bloom was to encourage neighborhood beautification, and to showcase the hard work and dedication of the many gardeners on the 400 Block of Potomac. Our efforts were rewarded with a great turn-out for the Garden Walk on the weekend of July 26-27, and many "bloomed" gardens on our street. An estimated one thousand vistors were drawn to our block during the Garden Walk! This was a new part of the city many vistiors had never seen before. Several people were interested in buying and fixing up homes on the street. We received many favorable comments about our block, and we believe that the sweat equity we've put into neighborhood beautification has taken root in a deeply meaningful way. Good gardens make good neighbors! The "Bloomed" gardens will be featured on the Buffalo in Bloom web site www.buffaloinbloom.com. Roll your mouse over the small pictures below!
