Some of our activities include:

• We have developed a phone tree to notify residents in case of emergency.

• We have contacted Buffalo housing inspectors to insure that those homes which are ruining property values and in general are just making the area look trashy are brought up to code. This has resulted in several homeowners being brought to housing court and forced to upgrade their properties. Your Block Club is in constant contact with City officials about problem owners.

• We have contacted city officials and police about drug dealing in the area; graffiti on the stop signs at corners. We routinely paint over the "tags" on the light poles when it appears.

• We notify residents of upcoming opportunities to meet with city officials about neighborhood issues. Councilman David Rivera and other city officials have come to meet with us at several meetings. Councilman Rivera has a "Drop in Night" every Tuesday from 4 to 7pm at the Niagara Branch Library, 280 Porter Avenue to help you get assistance on all your City of Buffalo issues, questions or complaints.

You can contact the Mayor’s Call and Resolution Center at 851-4890. Speak to a Citizen Services representative about crimes, rats, noise, etc.

Parking: As many of you know, parking on our block can sometimes be at a premium. Please park your vehicles with awareness and try not to take up more than one parking space. In other words, don’t park in the middle of two open spaces. Look out for your friends, neighbors and their visitors.

Your help and input is always appreciated! Block Club Dues are $25 per year for each family. Renters only pay $10. You can pay Paul at 464 anytime starting May, in cash or check made out to "Paul Rybarczyk."
